It's call HairConfirm Prescription, a hair follicle analysis that allows parents to test their teens for illegal and prescription drug use much more easily and effectively than through a standard urine test.
HairConfirm Prescription tests for the presence of 12 types of illegal and prescription drugs, and allows parents to find out within 48 hours whether their kids are drug-free. The test also detects usage and frequency over the past 90 days, giving a much more long-range result than a urine test. According to a press release, hair follicle test results can also differentiate between a recreational user and an addict.
The company also offers Regular and Express versions that only test for illegal drugs. Since such tests don't require a urine sample, they're less intrusive. But this doesn't mean teens are going to like them any more.
As a parent, is this test something you'd use on your child? If you're a teenager, is this something you think parents should use? Do drug tests like this help or hurt the parent-child relationship, and is that more important than catching a teen's potential drug problem early?
