A Different Way to Detect Drugs
SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Drug testing in schools has been a hot topic around the region lately. Now, there's an at home based test that's giving parents a better idea of what their teens are up to.
HairConfirm allows parents to take a sample of their child's hair then send it off to a lab. At the lab, it's then tested for 12 different types of illegal and prescription drugs. Unlike the normal urine sample drug tests, there is a wider window of detection and it can provide how often the drugs are used.
Confirm BioSciences says they created the test out of demand. The company says many parents wanted an easy and fast way to find out if or what drugs their children are doing.
While the company offers this new service, they also highly encourage parents to keep an open line of communication with their children about drugs and other issues affecting them.
The test is available at some drugstores across the country and widely available online.
